High speed document scanners
Systems Imaging offers a full line of reliable, commercial scanners from the most respected names in the industry. Models are available to handle documents of all sizes, shapes, and colors. Whether you are a small business with modest scanning needs, or a large corporation with high capacity demands, we can provide the right scanner to match your requirements.
Our technicians can assist you in the setup and installation of any scanner that we sell, and ensure that you are up and running quickly.
The three major categories of scanners are:
Workgroup Scanners (low volume - 0 to 5,000 pages per day)
Desktop/workgroup scanners provide a solid foundation for any productivity-enhancing document management solution. They give users the ability to scan up to 5000 pages per day and accommodate a wide variety of paper sizes, proving that you don't have to sacrifice performance for affordability.
Departmental Scanners (mid-volume - 5000 to 10,000 pages per day)
Departmental scanners deliver the higher throughput and added features larger organizations demand, such as a video interface and document imprinting. Adobe® Acrobat® Standard is included, enabling users to scan to PDF files. Fast, SCSI and USB connectivity, plus TWAIN and ISIS® drivers, ensure easy integration.
Production Scanners (high volume - 10,000 + pages per day)
Production environments call for extremely high throughput, flexibility and reliability. Production scanners satisfy these requirements, enabling users to scan up to 100,000 pages per day. The suite of production scanners includes scanners from 57 pages per minute (114 images per minute) to over 120+ pages per minute (240+ images per minute) full-rated speed at up to 300 dpi in Color, Grayscale, or Black and White modes! In addition to excellent image quality, high capacity input hoppers and a wide variety of options, these production scanners make integration much easier by offering multiple interface options as a standard feature. On-site service options add the comfort of knowing that your mission-critical production scanning environment will be running at the maximum throughput.
There are many issues to consider when selecting the right document scanner for your organization and Imaging Solutions can help you make the right choice. Some of the options include:
- Speed: Department, entry-level production, mid-range or high speed scanner models?
- Timeframe: How many users, how quickly does the work need to be completed? How many pages per minute?
- Document feeder: The number of documents in each batch will determine the necessity and size of an automatic document feeder.
- Document quality: Paper size and thickness? Color, grayscale, or black and white? Simplex or duplex? Rotation? Image correction?
- Data capture: Bar code, OCR (optical character recognition), ICR (intelligent character recognition) or data entry?

Optical Storage
Supporting a document management and imaging system requires a solid data storage strategy. To keep your information safe and accessible, Systems Imaging offers storage solutions that will meet a variety of needs.
From vendors such as Plasmon and EMC , we represent a comprehensive line of automated storage libraries, storage management software, and associated support services.
A jukebox or optical library is a device that stores the optical disks and uses a robotic arm to select the correct disk and put it in the optical drive. Optical drives are also made for DVDs and CDs.
The Ultra Density Optical (UDO) drive is a type of WORM technology from Plasmon that provides up to 30 gigabytes of storage. Plasmon, recently announced the launch of the new UDO Compliant Write Once media. Designed for archive applications subject to regulatory compliance and for ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) environments that have very specific data retention and disposition requirements, Compliant Write Once media contains a new feature that combines Write Once authenticity with the ability to physically destroy records, thereby enabling organizations to be in compliance with data retention and disposition regulations.
